Job Description

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Systems Engineer represents The Company and is responsible for designing infrastructures, implementing and supporting technology solutions utilizing server technologies, virtualization, backup and disaster recovery, and assorted network solutions. The position will manage multiple projects with conflicting time periods and will be expected to make the best decisions. The ideal candidate is a professional, has solid work ethics, high integrity, works well independently, has a strong desire to continue learning, and provides technical leadership to the team and organization.

Technical Responsibilities include: 

  • Serve as the lead on complex technical issues and opportunities
  • Resolve conflicts involving scheduling, resources, or technical issues
  • Advise on systems efficiency needs and upgrades as well as any potential weaknesses
  • Deliver and support high level solutions using industry leading enterprise technologies including servers, storage solutions, switches, routers, firewalls, cloud ecosystems and wireless access systems
  • Perform complex troubleshooting and resolution for systems at different enterprise levels, serving as escalation point for issues as necessary
  • Document, track and troubleshoot tickets as needed to evaluate and assess technical risks, and adherence to standards
  • Manage support tickets and use team resources
  • Provide training, mentorship, and support professional development of fellow engineers
  • Represent the company professionally to all parties including customers, prospects, and outside vendor partners
  • Exhibit sensitivity and awareness of the specific needs of customers, business partners, and technical services team members supervised

PREFERRED TECHNICAL CERTIFICATIONS

  • Microsoft Server certifications
  • Professional Level Network Certifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Technology or Information Systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a Technical Support Role
  • Microsoft Azure experience
  • Valid Driver License

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • 3+ years of network management experience
  • 5+ years of server management experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is often required to sit, talk, listen, use their hands and fingers, and type on a computer. Vision abilities required by this job including driving, and reading. Lifting requirements up to 40 lbs.
